Ingredients of Donut
Instant yeast - 2¼ tsp (7g)
Warm water - ¾ cup (187ml)
Granulated sugar - ⅓ cup (67g)
Salt - ½ tsp
Unsalted butter at room temperature - ¼ cup (57g)
Egg - 1
Egg yolk - 1
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
All-purpose flour - 3 cups
Oil for frying - 4 cups
For the Glaze
Granulated sugar - 1 ½ cups (240g)
Water - ¼ cup (63ml)
Vanilla extract - 1 ½ tsp
How to Make Donut
Mix yeast and water in a bowl and leave for 10 mins.
Add sugar, salt, butter, eggs, yolk, vanilla extract, and 2½ cups flour. Knead at low speed until the dough begins to form. If your dough is too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until you get a soft texture.
Put the dough into a lightly greased container, cover it tightly with plastic stretch, and ferment for 2 hours in a warm place.
Press gently to push the fermented dough, then wrap it with plastic stretch and ferment for at least 8 hours or overnight.
On a floured work surface, roll out the dough with a roller 1.5 cm thick. If you have a donut cutter to cut the donuts, you can use it. If you don't have a donut cutter, cut it with round donuts of 8 cm and 3 cm. Put the buns on the baking sheet, which you covered with greaseproof paper.
Cover donuts with a clean kitchen towel. Ferment again until the volume is gained.
Let's prepare a large pot suitable for frying.
Donut frying temperature is 180-185 ° C. Slowly put the donuts in hot oil and cook for about 1 min each side until golden brown color. Remove the baked donuts and leave them until it cools.
For the Glaze
In a medium bowl, whisk the sugar, water, and vanilla extract until smooth. Dip the buns into the mixture one by one. After dipping both sides of donuts leave them for 15 minutes for cooling and then serve.
Note:If you can not eat all donuts, keep them and reheat it in the microwave oven for about 8 seconds for eating again.
