Potatoes Au Gratin Recipe

Ingredients of Potatoes Au Gratin 

  • Butter - 3 ounce

  • Garlic clove (minced) - 1 
  • Cream - 200 ml 
  • Low-fat milk - 2 cups 
  • Cornstarch - 4 tbsp 
  • Nutmeg - 1/2 tsp 
  • Kosher salt - 1 tbsp 
  • Fresh ground pepper - 1/2 tsp 
  • Thinly sliced potatoes - 3 cups 
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

How to make Potatoes Au Gratin 

  • Pre-heat the oven to 400°F / 200 °C. 
  • Melt the butter in a large pan over low heat. Add the garlic, stir and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the cornstarch, milk, cream, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.  
  • Add the thinly sliced potatoes to the mixture. 
  • Pour the potato mixture into an oven you have prepared to an oven-safe bakeware. Bake for 30 minutes at 400 °F / 200 °C. 
  • Remove from the oven, add the shredded mozzarella cheese and put it back in the oven. Bake for another 15 minutes at 350 °F / 175 °C
